What Is Lab-Grown Diamond?
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds (pure carbon) produced in laboratories using advanced technology that replicates the natural, high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT or CVD) earth-forming process. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds, offering the same sparkle, hardness, and durability.
- Identical Properties: They are not fake or stimulants (like Cubic Zirconia); they are 100% carbon, sharing the same brilliance and fire as mined diamonds.
- Production Methods: Created via Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) from a "seed" carbon crystal.
- Cost and Value: They are typically 10-15% of the price of natural diamonds of the same quality. However, because they can be produced in unlimited quantities, they generally do not hold their value over time like rare mined diamonds.
- Sustainability & Ethics: As they do not require mining, they are often considered a more ethical and eco-friendly choice.
- Certification: Like natural diamonds, they are graded for quality (4Cs) by labs such as IGI.
Is Lab-Grown Diamond A Real Diamond?
YES! Lab Grown Diamonds are just as real as diamonds that are mined from the earth. They have shape, size, color and clarity grades, just like Natural Diamonds. Both Natural and Lab Grown Diamonds have the same physical and chemical properties and both come with diamond certifications.
